The phase 2 of the fluorescence workshop saw enthusiastic participation from amongst the online lecture sessions attendees. More than 50 attendees from various Institutes nationwide (IISER Pune, IIT Mandi, INST Mohali, Aligarh Muslim University, JamiaMilliaIslamia, JNU, University of Delhi etc.) came over to the Department of Chemistry at IIT Delhi to gain extensive hands-on experience on both steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence. The sessions were conducted over a period of 5 days in the laboratories of Prof. Sameer Sapra and Prof.Parmit K Chowdhury. Extensive discussions covering several aspects of instrumentation and performing experiments with various types of samples to bring out the importance and utility of this powerful technique were amongst the other activities of workshop. The participants also got opportunities to analyze data under the direct supervision of Prof. Chowdhury.
Under the purview of PERKS, by organizing many such workshops, DRIIV looks forward to carry out quality dissemination of knowledge along with imparting training on state-of-the-art equipment, as a part of the ‘Skill India’ programme.
This 4-day refresher course in collaboration with DRIIV and Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) IIT Delhi is currently running. The program objectives revolved around providing foundation level knowledge of EV charging Infra and battery interface and block level understanding of EV charging infra and how it interacts with Power grid and EV batteries. The core instructors were experts from IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU and IIT Delhi.
This has indeed been an excellent workshop not only in terms of the content but also with regards to the relevance in the present day modernization efforts towards reducing our dependence on non-renewable energy. In particular, with the efforts of our government towards promoting electric vehicles, the timing of this workshop could not have been better.
